New Mobile Required - Three Network Questions

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to post but a need some feedback pretty sharpish as my Virgin contract runs out tomorrow.

I am looking for a cheap tariff and have seen the £15 options from Three.

I have read bad press about Three in the past but wondered if anyone could answer these queries -

What are Three really like these days?
Can you get a good deal in the shops (I woul be popping into Loughborough one)?
What is coverage like in the East Midlands?
What are the phones / firmware like?
Do they accept PAC codes ok (I have mine ready to use).
What credit checks do they do (my records are too great!)

My current favoured option is to go onto the SIM only £15 tariff from Virgn which I understnad I can do by calling them tomorrow (I got onto PAYG at midnight!)

I hope some ppl can hep before tomorrow

If you do go for a phone from 3, I advise against the Nokias. :-( All of my experience has shown them to be a little bug-ridden.

I have that deal but only pay £10 month

Ive been looking at the £15 deals with 3.
Looks like one of the best options out there for a low user.
You get free phone, 300 mins/texts, 300 mins from 3 to 3, plus free msn, ebay, yahoo etc.
I dont think the 3 services is the best but is not bad, check 3 website for coverage maybe?
Also if you go through quidco you can get upto £50-£60 cash back, making it around £12 per month for 18 months.

Hi,

Could really do with knowing what the 3 shops are like, the best phone and how they are with poor credit history.

thanks

we are in Nottingham and my hubby is with 3 and never had a problem with reception as far as I know

I would imagine it would be same deals instore as online, but without quidco.

They list all their phones online www.three.co.uk

Morning All,

Thankls for all the advice so far.

Does anyone know if the Three shops have phones in stock so you can sort it all out on the day?

I have looked at Quidco etc and would onlt get £15 back so not really worth the hassle of getting a delivery etc.

Ideally I would like to pop into the Loughborough Three store today and pick up a new SE K800i free on Mix 300 at £ 15 / month - and PAC my number over to them (we I assume takes 7-10 days as normal).

Any thoughts?

I've used 3 on a nokia 6630, 6680, and 6120 classic - all very good phones and very few problems with the phones or 3.

You can get 3 contracts through phones4u, carphonewarehouse etc with more quidco upto around £60.
