sorted byFlesh light is a VERY different product
I know it's primarily a media consumption device, but the cool thing about the original shield TV is that it was a remarkably powerful Android box and offered processing power way over smartphones and tablets and even approached home consoles but in a much smaller box.
Considering four years on Nvidia are selling practically the same spec as their 2015 shield TV and no cheaper I'm pretty disappointed...
Trying to RMA anything back to nvidia is a nightmare! I'd personally avoid at all costs
Oh, and frame rate switching so that 24p content isnt a stuttering mess (although my TV is 120hz so that does fudge it fairly okish). Yet to hear if they've actaully managed this simple thing on the new Shield... (edited)
Obviously never used one.
If they do, DON’T get it, the last one was terrible, just get an 8bitdo or Xbox controller
And eBuyer and Scan by the looks of it
Multiplayer is better on flesh light (edited)
Some people want it for more than TV, like emulation, something it’s very good at and the more power the better
Flesh lights are clearly just campaign mode, you need a.... friend for multiplayer (edited)
Maybe people are confusing the new product names with the old one?
Old 'pro' had 512GB storage, new 'pro' doesnt.
Get a 4K firestick for a fraction of the price, you also get all the UK on demand apps unlike on the Shield (4OD missing)
Yep, it's a bit of a nightmare, tried the plugin a few times and it's basically unworkable.
On a 75" TV there is no point watching 4K content at 720p just to get Atmos.
Actually stopped using my Xbox for Netflix Atmos as my Samsung UHD player does the job AND switches to the correct frame rate! Only issue with that method is if I'm in the middle of watching a disc (currently going through Star Trek TNG with my boys) more often than not it "forgets" to resume whatever I'm watching if I've started the Netflix app!
First world problems, eh?
But my point still stands, it DOES output Atmos, even if it is just passthrough.
I'd rather have my amp decode it anyway. (edited)
Obviously you is wrong
I have and i agree its ovepriced
Might give it a shot later if I get time. Still like the looks of the new model for the 1080p upscaling voodoo though.
Why is there no 500gb version? don't they want more of my money?
And WHY is the remote triangular, what were they thinking????
Maybe i'm wrong but it looks like 1gb RAM and 8gb Storage, seems not much for an extra £75
Edit: 2x usb ports also (edited)
*We can use £5 discount if purchased before 31st oct with code GIFT05. (edited)
Plex media server too Evo
You can use app instead of remote but after last updates is not perfect as well.
Probably/hopefully ...
Lol.
Would have to agree, whilst the new "TV" seems decent as a smaller dongle, the Pro should've pushed the boat out a bit more, plus 16GB storage is pitiful by today's standards. Yes, of course you can add an SD card etc but it's never as good as internal memory for installing games etc.
Still the best unit on the market when you take into account the support in terms of updates. Hopefully Black Friday will make the price more palatable.
For me, streaming Dolby Atmos & Dolby vision on a streaming box that supports a lot of different services and an ethernet port is worth the extra over the original. Plus the ai 4k upscaling with the integrated GPU sounds interesting. Oh and the new remote apparently is is really good according to many people on Reddit, who have had the device for over a week due to early sales in the states.
