OK, my little girl has asked me for a new PC for Xmas, and well the old one is still chugging along but is starting to look and feel old.

So I am going to get a new one this is purely for the Base I don't need a monitor, also i am not afraid of building it, in fact i prefer too, but i am a bit out of touch regarding specs whats good and whats not, so if anyone would liek to contribute and help me build a new PC

My Budget is 350 of the lords coins and i need it to run Sims 3, Spore, and various other girl/kids games but i`m not looking to get basic it want them run at high res if possible maxed out, but it doesnt have to play crysis at 200fps.

so any advice what parts would you recommend, i know some of you geeks out there are waiting under your silicon just waiting for someone to give you this task :-)

also dont need OS as i have my OEM of windows 7 ill be sticking on.

What specs does you old one have, you may still have some adequate enough parts you can reclaim and recycle in your new unit, thats a start. You fan of Intel or AMD?

Without knowing a bit more, i can not do it all, but here is a good base, but can knock things off and change things depending, for example like the wireless card (do you need one, do you need a WirelessN300 [like is here], would a cheaper USB one be better for you?... those sort of questions lol)

This is from ebuyer and i have left the quick find numbers in so you can see them all on there, so good base to work from and maybe drop things off and get some from a different place maybe, but ebuyer is probaly the best if you want to get it all from one place, easier if you need to use the warrenty if all from 1 shop.
all the best and give me a shout if you need a hand any more :)...... Sorry this was done very quick after being away for 22 hours lol

Thx Guys, AMD Fan deffo, Currently have

Ati 3650, 2GB DDR 2 (2x1gb but it has some errors on it), 250GB HDD, AMD x2 5800+, 500w PSU (cheapo needs new)

but really i was going to use these older parts and stick them in a small factor case and put under the TV.

if you live near wales ( north wales ) i seen a shop today offering a Quad Core 4GB DDR Ram, 1TB HDD, with a 20" monitor for less than 350 £
