New road bike ?

Found 4th Aug
Looking for a new road bike around £1500-£2000.
Any that take mudguards...?
Undecided between carbon/aluminium? ....Shimano 105/Ultegra?....Di2 or not?
Mainly road use. Approaching 50 and not ridden for years lol. Thinking of buying saddle/frame bags instead of using a backpack.
Any recommendations please....?
TIA

Just make sure at that price you have good insurance as you’ll be a target for theft.
Modern 105 is fantastic. You may be interested in an 'adventure' bike. More upright riding position, can fit wider tyres, has disc brakes, and you can fit mudguards and pannier racks.
Lol
What are you going to use it for?

You should start by looking at the frame geometry. Go to a big bike shop and try differnt bikes for comfort. Theres a huge difference between a race bike and a touring bike. do you actually want drop bars or straight bars?
Thanks for your reply mas99
Drop bars for me.
For cycling on road....not off.
Not planning on racing/sprinting. But prefer a light bike....definitely not heavy steal.
Last road bike I bought was over 30 years ago.
