nice new t.v

Hi, i was hoping you nice hot dealers out there might be able to recommend a decent t.v. I've only got a budget of around £750. I dont know the difference between lcd and plasma, which is the best to have?? Ideally i would like a 42 inch, is this possible with budget i have??

Any help, advice or recommendations is greatly appreciated.

i have the samsung 40 inch from currys with stand dvd player and sound system
cost around that price and the store matched the cheaper online price there is always currys discount vouchers about
