Nikon DSLR deals, shopping and general camera camera help please

I am in the market for a DLSR and after a bit of research I am looking for a Nikon D3300, the trouble is, its out of stock everywhere or has a huge mark up. I guess it is end of life or something?

The D3400 seems a lot more expensive with no benefits (for me) and the D5300 is a fair bit expensive, is it worth saving or waiting for a deal especially over the D3400?

So has anyone seen any deals about for a D3300 or similar level DSLR?

There are no Jessops in my town anymore, but there is a privately owned shop i will be going to tomorow for a browse and was wondering how I would tell If the cameras are grey imports? Or is there anything I should check for?

People on here also seem to completely not care whether its a grey import or really care, I am not professional, so should I?

Sorry for all the questions and any help is much appreciated, thanks!

John lewis edinburgh have the nikon d3300 with vr 2 lens for £319.00 instore only i cant find it online hope this helps.

Don't bother with entry level DSLR.
Buy a D7000 off the bay, million times more useful and best camera for the price.
