    Nintendo DS Lite & Wii

We're having an electronic christmas this year and have decided to buy the kids ds lites and a Wii for the family to play on.

I have bought the Wii, it comes with one controller and a nunchuck, can anyone tell me what else I should be buying to ensure that when we plug it in we have what we need. eg. if we wanted 2 people to play do we need two controllers and two nunchuks? Are there any other accessories you would recommend?

Also, is there anything you could recommend in terms of accessories for the ds lite to start off with, how quick to batteries last? is there a charging unit? best place for games?

any advice would be most gratefully received

The wii will be ready to play out of the box as there is a game already included. If you want 2 people to play at the same time then yes you need two controllers and possibly 2 nunchucks depending on the game. There are quite a few cheap wii games at the moment, if you are looking for something fun that is multiplayer i would suggest mario kart.

    Not sure about DS.

Tells you about the DS. The battery is rechargeable and yes you get a charging unit.

if you want to play as a family you will need upto 4 remotes. the best wasy to get them is to to buy wii play which comes with the remotes & then sell on the extra games that you don't need  i.e. buy 3 wii plays & sell 2 of the games

I'm in the same position. I've heard about a "sensor bar". Does this make sense to anyone?

this is included when you buy the wii, (wouldn't be able to play otherwise) you can get wireless ones if you don't like the wire trailing everywhere.

Ah. OK. Thanks for that. It's a pressie for Beloved for Xmas so got it with Wii Fit (her request, not my suggestion LOL)
I've also ordered Wii Play and Remote via Play.com. This is mostly for her and the kids, as I got my PS3 last month, and they're not allowed to touch it, so what else apart from what I've ordered do I need? 3 kids BTW.

some multi player games can be played with the one remote
