I have just under £40 in my paypal account and want to spend it on a bit of retro gaming!

Have never played a gamecube but used to have a dreamcast.

Im unsure which one to go for...im edging towards the gamecube.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks

I have a gamecube for sale if your interested in that, comes with 2 games and all leads, let me know

gamecube prob has wayyy more games for it, tho if you have a wii you dont need a gamecube

And obviously the gamecube is better in that case! You can pick up cheap games in cex, game, on here, ebay etc

Please do not jump to conclusions

That's what killed SEGA

Wish It had of been that hedgehog.

If I were you, I'd go for a Gamecube.

The graphics are great, even now. You can't beat a bit of Mario Kart or Sonic! Super Monkey Ball is fantastic multiplayer fun too (can't get that on Dreamcast!)

I wouldn't much class a gamecube as retro gaming so would go for the dreamcast

Bought a gamecube last year for £25 from Game new and has found loads of fab games under £5 - if you don't want all the mod games I think the cube is great. We've all had loads of fun!

yeah beats buying them again on Wii

Defo Dreamcast and at least you can downlod your games and write them for free....

Still use one yet for House of the Dead

i got an n64 if ur intrested??

go for the dreamcast - it's got a far better arcade range of games (which i'm guessing is what the retro types are into). As someone else mentioned the Dreamcast has no copy protection and will play burnt games with no hassles so you can get those jap exclusive shooters

The black one is chipped although I never got round to buying any mini DVD's to make use of it. But all the original games I have are awesome.

There are barely any decent 8cm dvd blanks

I've got a Dreamcast with all cables, a fair few games, 2 controllers and a VMU that I'm looking to get rid of if your interested. Whereabouts are you?

hope it goes well for you

how does it compare to the PSP for emulation?

Original Poster

I have purchased one from ebay with 4 games for £29.99 including a controller.

There was one with 9 games but what put me off was the fact that it would be sent normal delivery and therefore was not trackable. It should be here tomorrow.

i don't think the GC comes with any built in memory, pop down to a car boot and see if you can pick up a memory card for a few quid, make sure you get an official one, the 3rd party ones are very hit and miss (both 3rd party ones i've used have failed on me at some point, wiping the saves)

Original Poster

i have got the gamecube now and it does not come with built in memory so that i have to purchase a memory card.
