Nintendo Switch battery differences

5
Posted 12th Mar
Looking for a switch for a cousin. I got myself the 2019 new battery version but mostly dock it so never running out of battery.

On eBay someone has listed the old version but brand new from I assume a mobile contract for £200 (£180 after 10% off code).

Is it worth getting the old version for £180? I believe the sole difference is battery length and not performance?

Old version can run custom software.
Old version is more than fine - I use it myself. If you're mostly playing it docked to the TV you don't need the new version

They were patched August 2018, if your console was purchased before that then you've an unpatched console, and you're good to go
