    Nintendo Wii Controllers

Ok we have 4 remotes and 2 nunchucks but we got no actual controllers.I've seen mentioned Wii Controllers also Gamecube ones people talking about.
Which one would be best to buy,we should have Mario Kart coming anyday and was thinking might need a controller for that to make it easier for my son to play.
Most of the games we got we managed fine with what we already got.
Could I be pointed into right direction what to buy and best prices where etc, just a few opinions be good on what people are already using.

Well I ordered the Mario Kart from ChoicesUK and it come with 2 wheel things that clip onto the remotes I think but I was also wanting to get some sort of regular controller as it come in handy for Mario Kart and maybe for any other game.

I prefer the gamecube controller to the classic controller.

ok so as mentioned above would we be better off buying the wii controller as at hmv above or a gamecube controller, what are the price differences and can you still get official gamecube controllers. Just when I've bought other companies contorllers in past like for Sega Saturn 1 example it was very rough playing it compared to the actual official ones.

Can you show me a site which is 1 that you got and any others available.I would prefer an official one please.

You can use the Wiimotes for Mario Kart - why would you want to buy some more if you alread have 4? :?

Im assuming, the Wiimotes will be tilted to the side for easier playing....

The classic controller is mainly for downloaded games...

Yeh you hold it sideways by what I see around the net and the wheel bits clips on,the one I got coming comes with 2 clip on bits.
But someone said on some post somewhere about playing it on net and you need a controller really.
I might be just best see how he gets on with just the remote,I'm sure he'll pick it up really quickly anyway.
I don't know anything about d/l games cos I just buy original ones, tbh I don't know much about Wii at all as don't really use it myself much.

You have 4 wiimotes, thats all you need, even for playing online!
You don't need any additional bits to play online....don't worry about that!

To download games, you buy Wii Points. I think its about £15 for 2000 points? You then use these to buy games from previous Nintendo consoles, such as Nes, Snes, N64. To play these games, the classic controller is required.
I still have a classic controller in its packaging, unopened! Have not bought any games online yet, lol

Im expecting Mario Kart from Choices too!

Not just Nintendo consoles, and it's either a classic controller or a Gamecube one.

I bought 4 gamecube controllers from (i think) choices uk, at £3.50ea and they're great/ unfortunately I can't seem to find them there now so maybe they've gone but I'd say go for gamecube ones over the classic ones, they're better and cheaper. SSBB is so much better with a real controller.

So say you get 2000 points, how many can you get like games do you know?

Yeh I'm wondering if it turn up cos I keep seeing about saying cancellations here there and everywhere. My son due back on Monday so I'm hoping it comes in post that day. He's expecting it cos keeps looking at display in Game and he only ever had Mario Kart game on DS which is also a GBA cartridge so this be a big difference.

Ok £3.50 is pretty good,it might be worth just having in just incase.

For me, I'd go with Gamecube controllers all the way! If you get gamecube games you can't use the Wii Classic Controller, but you can use the gamecube controller for most of the virtual console games. You might also be interested in these ]controllers- I got 2 of these and I'm really impressed with them and they're the same price as the classic controllers - but work with gamecube games!

    Go to the Nintendo Website.

Have you joined and redeeemed the stars that you got with your console, and games(Nintendo ones)?

They have a list of games, the points that they cost, and what controller you need to play them.
Be warned, the site is horrible to navigate.

    Ok I'll take a look.
I don't know about stars what come with console, all I've noticed is the Wii games have a sheet in them with a scratch off panel,I just thought that was about some code to join some club or other.
I've not really done much with Wii at all myself considering we had it since Jan 2007.

Yes, those are the ones. You have to register the stars, convert them to points and then you can swap them for games.

It is extremely time consuming to do, but I would expect that you already have enough for a game or two.

Yeh looking at the games list a lot of the games are 500 pts,we do have the scratch off panels in most of the games so I'll do it sometime,or get my partner to do it cos he'll understand it more than me once I explain a little.

Rep will be left for everyones input.

Gamestation are selling Competition Pro Wii Steering wheels for £4.99 in store (at least they are near me!)

The Classic Controller works a charm. Much more responsive than the Wheel. However, I just use the Nunchuck to steer.

Probably been said already, but gamestation have the gamecube controllers for £7.99 - I bought two on Saturday (only white colour)
