Help!
Got gf a new radio/cd for her micra.
its an R-reg, not the current 'bowler hat 'shape but the one before.
currently has its original nissan radio/cassette in it, but theres no obvious removal 'holes' to fit a removal tool into??
am i missing something or do i have to take the dash apart? Oh for a haynes manual!

Many thanks in advance for all help received.

I parked my Micra in Huddersfield once, and someone managed to get it out pretty quickly, and neatly, after smashing my window! Can't imagine it'd be that hard.

In all seriousness, try this... ]http//ww…=36
Easy, that was one of the easiest cars i have dealt with. I had loads of trouble with a 04 polo and nearly gave up, i suppose every car and person is different, just follow the instructions on the link above and you should be ok.

Done my girlfriends 04 polo took 5 minutes, though I did have some Sony keys which I think are similar to the VW spec radios.
Earlier nissan micras are a pain. they are often bolted in, requires a flexible arm i believe. been a while since i done one, either its up from behind via the footwell or you have to remove some of the dash. The stereo is bolted in tho so dont just try yank it out,
park it in liverpool, job done ..............

Very many thanks to all.
Now fitted & working.
Still smarting from £15.99 for a harness adapter from Halfords!
would have got one online a lot cheaper no doubt, but no patience when dashboard lying in bits.
Cheers, Phil.

What was the harness for? Halfords said I'd need a harness for my wife (sorry not g/f)'s 04 polo but didn't need it.

harness adapter changes existing wiring plugs in car
(which suited standard blaupunkt rad/cass) to universal type which fit the goodmans rad/cd that i was fitting, also any other brand from the looks of it.
it would seem that the days of scotchblock type connectors,or that old favourite, twist it together & wrap it in tape, are well & truly behind us.
was a 5min job thanks to link above but now seem to have a gap right around the unit in the dash?
might have to abandon nissans bolt it in fitting and go with a standard sleeve like all other din standard units i have fitted to other cars.;-)
not got a harness for the gf yet............now theres an idea.
