Nissan Radio Code

The battery went flat on our Nissan Note and now the radio won’t work without a code. Nissan said they’ll charge us! Any ideas on how to sort this?

Unfortunately, I didn’t get one when I bought the car.
Pull the radio out and see if it's written on the back. A lot of dealers write them on the back so they don't have your problems if they lose battery power (changing battery, service work etc). You may be lucky.
Send me the serial number and i'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks. Any way of getting serial without pulling the radio out?

Whats the model of it?
mas12324/07/2019 13:07

Nissan Note, 2007.

I mean, the model of the radio? should say it on the front.

That model is the clarion I think which I don't think is possible to get the SN without removing it.

Try this..
Turn ignition on and wait for it to display "CODE IN"
Then hold the number 4 while pressing the power button TWICE (don't hold the power button down though).

What happens?

I saw this on Youtube and it started working again when I do it. But I saw comments saying it was only temporary?
I’ll take the radio out if that’s the only way to get the serial.

Yes, when I turn the car on again it’s locked!

Cheers. It works, but is only a temporary solution.

Your car looks immaculate. I hope you're wearing gloves when you touch it.

Haven’t checked yet, but when I turn the car off and on again, the code prompt is back.
mas12324/07/2019 14:19

Thank you.

You're welcome. Just out of interest, what are Nissan wanting to charge you? It used to be about a tenner and you could get it just by giving them your VIN number.

If it was that I would have done it. But it’s around £50.

I believe nissan charge £57.

You can probably buy a used radio on ebay with a code for much less.

Pull out the radio if you can and PM me the last 4 digits of the barcode and the SN I will try to get a code for you. I have a calculator here, if it doesn't work I can ask a friend to see if he can help.
If the kind people on here haven't/can't help, you can try the guys on here:

unlockforum.com/

They sorted me out a treat many moons ago on a Vauxhall who wanted £39. Apparently, In-house they still charge the dealership £15 a pop...

Best regards, Phsy.
