Corbyn

"I will obviously ensure people discuss the use of language with people," the Labour leader added.

"I will make sure everyone treats others with respect."

Another Labour politician that exposes serious issues being swept aside as if it's some kind of misunderstanding.

Mr Bailey dismissed the form of Ms Dent Coad's apology as a "cowardly response"

Ghetto is a Jewish thing.

Plenty of Jewish and none Jewish ghettos in London now

She really does need to resign no doubt about it.

Her language is appalling and not that of an individual who represents others. I hope the press pursues her until she does the right thing.

As for Corbyn, I'm shocked by his apparent lack of understanding as to how offensive she has been.

Another attempt by this dim-witted socialist to make a name for herself in a way only dim-witted socialists can.

But on this occasion anyone with an ounce of nuance would know exactly what 'token ghetto boy' is referring to. How do these people in the Labour Party even have thoughts like this go through their head, let alone actually put pen to paper to ratify it.

That my dear is an accusation actually, as the terms meaning is not in itself a insult but has been associated with racism by American culture. What you are partaking in is a knee jerk reaction based on your interpretation, I put it to you this, Boris Johnson is still in the conservative party after making many comments that are very clearly racist, no gray areas with his past comments.

Equally what is the context of it, i would see it in the isolated state that it is as a complaint that the man is in government due to being a ethnic minority (due to the term token) rather then competent at the job and similar can be said about women from all female shortlists, in other words sounds more like an attempt to open a can of wombs then to personally insult another member of the party.

MPs are just normal people! They do not represent a super PC version of life, they from the commoners.

Prejudice is innate.

Quite frankly there are a lot of people out there in this country and many others near to us that wish to for relaxing of the PC rules. Who, want to put the white, not particularly religious majority first and not to have worry about saying something that might be taken as offensive!

Roll with the changes!

Corbyn regularly deals with bigotry in his party...but never tackles it...because he couldn't give a fig.

Similar to Jared O'Mara, this new MP for Kensington is a worrying example of the Momentum-backed Labour intake of 2017.

The blog post also quoted unnamed “former neighbours” who described him as “a free-loading scumbag” and “the most hated man in North Kensington”.

Using a false 'fake news' article and victim blaming - all in one post. You should try and get on a Momentum shortlist.

In my world it's abnormal to use the phrase 'token ghetto boy'

Yes, you are not on the same world as everyone else!

it would probably be too offensive to call someone that on most discussion forums tbh so an MP in the public eye should know better?

I'll take that with a smile on my face

Maybe this weak platitude will be used on anyone who's abused others...

"I will make sure everyone treats others with respect."

the question is when?

The mild insult rather than a defence of the article is noted. What gives you such confidence in the veracity of this author?

Isn't the majority exactly who the politicians should be a tailoring their policies towards?

After all isn't a well known political party using that as a slogan atm.

For the many not the few.

Where does it say in this blog that she made any derogatory comment?. The problem is the cut and paste mainstream media, too lazy to get off their fat a**** and do a bit of journalism.

Is this similar to John McDonnell's defence that he only 'reported' about lynching a female Conservative MP, Esther McVey?

we could give each other examples like this ad nauseam

nostalgie de la boue a desire for degradation and depravity. The French phrase, meaning literally ‘mud nostalgia’, was coined by the French poet and dramatist Émile Augier (1820–89), in Le Mariage d'Olympe (1855). In response to the comment that a duck placed on a lake with swans will miss his pond and eventually return to it, the character Montrichard replies, ‘La nostalgie de la boue! [Longing to be back in the mud!]’

The only way this isn't offensive is if she was implying that the 3rd party she was referring to would have thought of him that way but not herself.
But even then she was walking a very fine and dangerous line to use this phrase in current times and it showed a lack of judgement at best.

Probably best If she joined the Conservative party where she should have a fine career in the cabinet in the foreign office.
