    where about are you,

nr portsmouth, mac do turned me down:oops:

Problem with work expereince is that companies see it as a way of getting free labour for a few days. Once they need to give you money they aren't interested. Have a look on local council websites. Local councils round here are always advertising random jobs if you are prepared to give anything a go.

Not being funny....but what about a cleaner? Pay usually starts at about £6 - £10 per hour. Also, I am a Home carer....just started last month and is great earn about £75 for 1 nights work or they pay about £7-£8.50 per hour.....obviously means caring for people generally...making sure they've eaten, some need moving around, some personal care....but it really isn't as bad as some people make out:thumbsup:

Unfortunately many of the menial jobs that our fellow englishman seem to think they are too good to do are now being taken by the our fellow europians who are happy to work doing these jobs. Keep trying i'm sure something will turn up, particularly at xmas time. Good luck

Leicestershire. But am lucky to livge on the edge of Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire so always have a big area to look at jobs in. Leicestershire council always seem to have lots of jobs, although most are only a few hours, better than nothing though.

Alot of shops look for temporary staff this time of year to cope with demand, fair enough it's not permanent work, but you never know you might get offered a job out of it. Best to go round a shopping centre, see if any have signs in wondows looking for staff, even if they don't you could always go in and ask...

    Someone once said to me:

'If you haven't got a job, make it your job to get a job: so work 9 - 5 looking for jobs until you hit success'

Bit exaggerated perhaps but it emphasizes the importance of motivation whilst job-hunting.

I'm sure your putting in effort though, but sometimes its easy to lose hope. The best part is that feeling inside you when you get that job though. Keep going, always try and improve yourself and your CV, and you will eventually find a vacancy

keep your chin up hopefully something will come along for us soon

Hit town with a hand full of CVs. I know loads of people who've done this, dropped one into every shop on their high street and had multiple job offers!

yeer good plan, dropped about 60 emails to all the local places and got a few intrested:thumbsup:

I tried that and didn't get anywhere. I remember Footlocker being very annoyed when I tried to hand them my CV and most tell you to go on their website and apply. I recommend people keep applying for vacancies and try to do well in the interviews, I got there after a year.

im struggling too, tought once my youngest started school i would get back to work no problem, seems once they know you have school age kids thats it they dont want to know,an the one job i applied for sent me letter saying they had over 400 applicants was shop work on min wage lol tought i was in with a chance with that one.........hard times but hey we keep trying...........

I heard the story about if you are unemployed many if not most employers just chuck your application in the bin, I quite believe this as they seem to think unemployed people are unmotivated but who can blame them if that happens!
