    Nokia rubbish CS

So i send off my Nokia mobile phone to Nokia as its still under warranty, it basically had all sorts of problems before it died and wouldnt switch back on. I check the status daily and after 8 days it says it has been repaired and sent back to me. It does come back but not repaired!

Theres a box ticked on the receipt to say theres water damage. No way is there water damage it has not been in contact with any water or moisture. I call CS at Nokia which are just as rubbish, said send it in again. Is it really worth all the hassle? Humph

there should be a little water damage indicator you can see? did you check before sending?

There was a thread about the same thing a couple of days ago, someone whose Nokia had failed during an upgrade, which they sent to be replaced only to also be KB'd under the excuse of 'water damage'. Do a search, you'll see the thread. It'd be interesting to see how closely the details of your experience match those of the other person's.

i used to sell phones long time ago and thought there was a square on some phones or like litmus? changed colour when it had been damp...

take it back to where you bought it? or maybe send to one of the repair under warranty companies?

The annoying thing with this is, your at the mercy of Nokia. If they find a fault that is beyond economical repair, so would have to replace the phone, it would be so easy to wet their finger and put it over the moisture indicator to say it had water damage!

If my Nokia 5800 became faulty, I would find the little test square and video it with a newspaper showing the date and showing the fault, then send the phone to them. If they then try and say it was water damaged I would have dated evidence to prove their lies.

Hope it all comes good for you.

well i dont know..ask them who do they send repairs too...we used to send nokias to intec so they were not connected i dont think. Certain phones went to their own repair but not nokia.

I think i would ask them who they send them to and can they send it? we have done it for customers...sent to another company(maybe intec then nokia) and the second time has been repaired so worth a try?

Thank you once again. I might send it to these people in that case as it doesn't make a difference to them whether they fix it or supply a new one, rather then deem it liquid damaged when its not. Going to go to the O2 shop this morning and ask them where they send the phones too, if it's to Nokia themselves then that's no good as i will encounter the same problem

we used to have water damage BER all the time and a lot of the time knew the customer hadnt got them wet-it was just normal usage...i think some phones are worse than others for letting water in..let us know how you get on?

As I posted on the other water damage thread, Nokia Customer Services are useless!! There is no other word for them. - I would prepare yourself for a battle!
