Is it on a bank card??? what do you us it for, is there a service station or convenience store that u use it for.??...it sounds like someone is taking your details when you use the card.

I think i saw a program where one service station had a box in between the chip and pin machine and the till so any data that went through it was recorded, i think i saw a program about it and how it can be modified to fit inside the chip and pin machine so it all looks normal.

Sure it was the Nationwide who called you and not a phisher after your details ??

Thats what I was thinking, Id ring Nationwide to confirm what you was told. Did you give any details over the phone? the 3 digit number on the back of the card?

Did they ask you for the three digit security code?

sorry to here this. it happen to me july last year also for the second time, the person had ussed my details to order from currys/dixons a top of the range lap top that all went through then they ordered a games console and games the bank then called me and stopped my card and account. all further dealings with the bank was left for me to do i had even found out that the ones that used the card had given an address (not a business one) for the stuff to be delivered to. the bank were **** did nothing to help because they didnt loose any money (dixons didnt try to collect the money after i had spoken to them ) they werent going to bother with the case. took nearly 2 weeks to get a new card and money to fall back into my account then they tried to charge me for an overdraft as all my bills came out of this account:x

They often don't pursue these things even when you give them all the evidence. Has happened to me too. I was with Goldfish but they re-credited my account so no harm done.

** It's a good idea to keep your credit limit low (say £2000, unless you really need it higher) , that way if a scumbag does start spending on it, it will get stopped sooner. Also, call your card issuer before you go overseas or they may not accept transactions when you're on holiday **

Dont worry, was nationwide, didnt give them any account info over the phone. I havent used my card much outside lately. Its my visa debit card. Last place i used it was registered with shopto to get sf4 early.

Doubt it was anything wrong with them - anyone had problems with them?

The annoying thing is with cancelling and redoing direct debits, last time i thought that bank was gonna sort it, ended up having to phone up places and get it sorted after they started charging me... got the money back like.
