    NORTH STAFFORD HOTEL, STOKE ON TRENT

    Booked a room in this 3* hotel and had a room which in my opinion wasn't even 1* standard!! There was a thick layer of dust on the base of a table in the room, no fire instructions in the room (which apparantly is a legal requirement), no sink in the bathroom just one dirty one in the bedroom, was in a bad state of repair and had nuerous other problems with it. Have been in touch with Brittania Hotels Head Office and am still waiting to hear from the Manager of the North Stafford to see what refund they are prepared to give us.
    I WOULDN'T STAY THERE AGAIN IF YOU PAID ME!!
    I've stayed in Travel Lodges in the past and they've been far cleaner and of a higher standard.

    i hope you took pictures, its always more powerful that way. i always check the reviews first here or on other sites before commiting myself. so maybe that will be better for you next time so you dont lost money like that again. nothing worse than lousy hotel stay.

    I stayed there and for the most part it was lovely. My experience was rather ruined by this whinging little goit who kept on moaning about dust on the feet of the tables though :giggle:

    I have had problems with hotels. I ended up with 2 free nights at the Gatwick Hilton after they messed up a surprise Valentines break. They bent over backwards to give us the best stay ever and even baked my son a birthday cake for our return from holiday. There were also flowers and champagne in the room.

    I stayed in a 3* hotel for bed and Breakfast. We had a slap up dinner with champagne the night before. Got up for breakfast and the food was rancid. The bacon was mouldy! The sausage was raw in the centre! I complained and asked where we could go and get breakfast. We went to a cafe just down the road. Got back to the room and looked a little further to find cobwebs and dust in the room. When we checked out, i refused to pay for the bed and breakfast but said i would pay for the dinner the night before. The manager said the dinner and drinks were on the house and apologised for the room and breakfast.

    I was refunded £167 by Travelodge for a bad room at Newport on the Isle of Wight and given the same amount in a credit note. 2 nights stay with breakfast and dog fee.

    Most recently, another stay at a Travelodge on the M2 in kent. The room was dirty as was the second room. I found a 4* hotel close by and stayed there with my family.

    I complained as i wanted my room fee back as i refused to stay in a dirty room. The hotel manager sent me a standard apology letter with no refund. I was not happy. Travelodge said i would have to write in again if i wanted them to look at it again. So i did, via Money Claim Online.

    Travelodge got a Court paper detailing i had pictures showing 2 dirty rooms and how i was forced to book in at another hotel. They were given 14 days to settle or supply a defence. Travelodge paid out in full for my original room fee, the other hotel fee, interest on the amount and the Court fee. I'm paying the cheque in today.

    Remember, your the customer and Money Claim Online is there to make life easy.
    A hotels product is clean rooms!
