they send you the link/voucher in the post after you sign up,a while back i managed to find the website and there are some lovely hotels, some posh ones out of town that would cost you £150 a night normally plus normal ones and even some travelodges and ramada ones ans the odd b&b...you get accomadation ONLY and no obligation to buy food or anything...but i have searched every which way possible but cant find the list of hotels this time, what a shame i didnt bookmark it...but figure there must be someone else who has signed up to this Npower deal somewhere...

Thank you Mutley1 that is a very good idea, keith

I looked at this deal for myself but alot you can't stay Fri or Saturday so no use to me. Also you may have a place and date in mind but it depends on availability which usually means it's won't be.

thanks very much, its getting to them our problem as dont have transport ourselves..but will work something out as have gone with Npower as they are the cheapest for my useage...

I contacted Npower as i had not received the hotel voucher, they told me i should contact uswitch, though i dont recall switching through them, I then contacted onenightfree and they told me they themselves send the voucher after being notified of the switch which has to elapse 45 days from when you start receiving energy with new supplier

my partner switched to npower through moneysupermarket.com and the list of hotels for the free one night stay is on a site called taketimetounwind

I signed up with npower (instead of one of the others) via moneysupermarket because even though both had £30 cashback only the npower one had the free night in the hotel. So eventually I received the hotel information and there was a booklet with exactly 50 hotels to choose from! (covering the entire country including N.I.). However there are some more on the website (www.taketimetounwind.co.uk). I looked through the website and whilst none of them could be said to be "top notch" hotels, they were mostly at the lower end of the price range with some medium ones thrown in.

Having spent many hours sifting through the tripadvisor reviews and picking the 3 or 4 that I considered to be "least worst" and within 50 miles of the attraction we wanted to go to, I called the reservation line only to be told that the maximum book-ahead time was two weeks!!! Yes, you read that right - a maximum of 14 days in advance only. So you cannot "plan" anything other than what is effectively a last minute rush. Forget trying to combine it with a nice cheap advance rail fare... Now, correct me if I'm wrong (in fact I shall come back and correct this post myself if i turn out to be wrong) but I think I shall have a hell of a time finding a reasonable hotel/b&b with any availability for the weekend I want at just 14 days notice! unless of course I book out of season on a wet and windy winters day in the middle of nowhere on a tuesday...

summary: dont let the enticement of a free night in a hotel sway your decision - it's not worth the hassle!
