Hey everyone.

I wanted to get fabric wall letters for Katie's bedroom. Seen them in Mamas and Papas but grudge paying £10 for one letter. Has anyone else used any good sites that u could recommend me? Something a bitty cheaper would be good. As £50 is a bit much to stick her name on the wall haha.

Wanted quite big ones like maybe 10" to 12" as would want tiny letters lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

could you not make something like them yourself?? make the letters with some fabric (from boyes or somewhere) and stuff them with cotton wool??

That's a brill idea guys I am gonna head to homebase and get a board of mdf and make them myself and even better yet I might use her baby clothes that are too small for her and do that. Oh I am do excited to get started now although I might have another little girl might be best to just buy some fabric. Would I get that from any normal arts and crafts shop??

do you have a boyes near you?? they have reels and reels of all dirrefent fabrics!

If you have a market near you they usually have a fabric stand, they do clearance fabrics for 50p, or you could try at Dunelm and ask for offcuts which should be quite cheap.

Don't have a boyes nearby. Never even heard of it. No markets nearby either. Do have a Dunelm in Dundee which is closest. Xx

i know you said you dont like ebay but i bought some lovely fabric hearts with sequins and shiney ones and green spot buttons and stuck them to a canvas for my daughters room and they look great, i even made a matching cushion cover. you could get the cardboard letters from hobby craft , paint them then stick things to them, my sister did that and they look really good.

The letters in Hobbycraft are on offer at the mo too.
I made my own with wood and a template, was a right pain in the bum, but worth it. Next time i would go the Hobbycraft route.

Using your daughters smaller baby clothes is a lovely idea. If you are trying to keep the cost down - you could also try car boots for unusual 'baby' fabrics. You might also consider the wadding inside a baby quilt/duvet (cotton wool might be a bit lumpy)

Yeah I thought baby clothes might be nice and if she still has the letters in years time like when she is a teen I think it would be nice to look back on. Was gonna be making a patchwork quilt at some point too but may need to wait a year or so so that I have plenty off pretty fabrics
