    O2 Broadband. Any Good?

I'm not happy with Sky Broadband changing their download limit to 10Gb. I arrived back from holiday at the weekend and must've downloaded more than that the first few hours to catch up on stuff i'd missed lol. I'm thinking of swapping for O2's deal as it's free for first 3 months then only £7.34 a month after that. Combine that with £50 Quidco and it looks a good deal.
Has anyone any experience of how the service is, especially as i use peer to peer a lot?
    Thanks

I'm not an O2/Be (telefonica) user but I deal with ADSL on a daily basis. I never seem to visit customers of these companies. All I ever hear is good reports. Plenty people on the forun on them so I'm sure they'll advise on P2P etc

When did sky cap at 10GB?

What package were you on before hand?

I've used Be for years now, and can't fault the service. It has never been down that I can remember.

    I use ukfsn.org. Never had a problem.

I got a letter stating that they are capping it at 10Gb (not sure if it's started yet but i did hear about it before). I was only on the mid package at a fiver and i know i can upgrade to the max for another fiver but the O2 deal looks attractive as if quidco pays, it only costs me about £16 for a year with my 3 free months.

It is now called Sky Broadband Everyday and was £5 a month (discounted from £10 because i have Sky line rental). It's changing to 10Gb usage.
broadband.sky.com/ and at the bottom in the small print.

o2 are excellent although I oredered the 24meg after being told I could receive 16 meg, then I checked on my router and they were only sending me 8 and said that their own test differed from the one on the site blah blah i got my package put down to the 8 meg but the customer service is in english (!!!!!) and theyre cheap and dont traffic shape.

Have either of you used it for peer to peer stuff? Them not traffic shaping sounds promising.

    Great cheers. Food for thought.

I swapped Sky for O2 this July. Only got 2 months free but received £50 Quidco this month.

Can't fault the O2 service but the supplied Thomson router is carp compared to the Sky Netgear. I re-flashed the Sky router to use on O2.

O2 are great, been with them since April last year, no downtime, no problems other than the router needed a firmware update which was sorted within 5 minutes on the phone on a freephone number at an English call centre.

Often download 300GB a month or more, no shaping or restrictions.

Bargain at £7.34 a month. Would be happy at twice that price.

Which router did you have? the newer white or older black one? I had the black one which kept dropping the connection but the new firmware sorted it.

Where did you find the settings for using another router.

The white one. Couldn't cope with the router's GUI, which is way better on the Netgear router.

sky max at £10 is still a very good deal imho.

O2 have been exceptionally good for me over the last 18 months.

move to O2 two months ago from Be (got £50 cash back). highly recommended.

I am on O2 for almost 2 years, they are great and cheap. No complaint at all.

Thanks for all the replies. Will phone Sky and ask for my MAC code. Hopefully they might ask why and give me a deal  You never know.
