O2 Broandband

    Hi.

I'm looking to taking out O2 Broadband before the end of the month to benefit from the £50 credit but was just wondering if what people think of their service.

Anyone had any problems with them? How's the support? Am I right in thinking all (apart from access) offers unlimited usage?

    Any help/advice/views would be appreciated.

I've had O2 Broadband for a couple of years, no complaints, it's a reasonable deal if you have an O2 handset, support is UK based and pretty good, they sent me a new router this week when my old one started rebooting, no quibbles. Speed is decent, mine runs at 15Mb.

Easy to set up, you don't have to install their Broadband assistant if you don't want too. Mine came with 3 licenses for McAfee, not sure if that is still the case.

The O2 website can be a bit annoying but that's a minor niggle, I'm happy with them.

It really does depend if you are on an o2 enabled LLU exchange or not. There non LLU is called access and has major problems but the LLU is brilliant. Hope this helps. Look on www.samknows.com on broadband checker to see if your exchange is enabled

Thanks both, just checked and it says I can take out any of their packages.

Can't fault them, I am on the top package and have some good speeds. Service is 2nd to none even get to call them at midnight and get some help if needed. Had a router that was rebooting itself every now and then so I called them up at midnight and they sent out a replacement that was with me the next working day. Can't complain with that plus being an O2 mobile user I get additional discount on the service charge.

Sounds good and the mrs has an o2 contract so she'd get us the discount and a £50 credit on her account. Hmmmm very tempted now.

Does anyone use their o2 bb for online gaming (xbox 360) ? Any known issues?

Like what? It's broadband!!! It gives you internets....

You'll probably find a horror story about playing XBox Live (and in fact, about just about any issue you could think of if you look hard enough) on every ISP in existence because there'll always be someone with something to complain about. At the end of the day, o2 give you fast internet, fast enough to be completely sufficient for playing games online. Mine has been fine since I got it in May last year and the high upload speed should ensure that you always have a decent connection to any game you're in and that you are comfortably capable of hosting large games.

Only reason I was asking is I noticed over on the o2users website something about someone having problems with connecting to gaming servers etc and was just checking if thats a general problem or one off thing.. always nice to know to people's personal experiences

o2 have been great in the 18 months I've been with them.

Unlimited usage and good customer services imo
