o2 internet no longer 'unlimited' for existing customers from Oct?

    Hi,

I just had a conversation with someone at o2 about my simplicity contract which is coming to an end next month. They told me that as of October they'll be limiting my internet to 500mb a month. Is there anything in the o2 terms and conditions that allows them to do this?

if it's not ill be cancelling my contract.

Most people don't use more than 500mb a month anyway.

agreed-the giffgaff deals look interesting tho-100 minutes/unlimited texts/unlimited internet-5 quid! wonder how they can sustain that?

I read somewhere that any changes to your T&C's which will cause your monthly bill to go up excessivly will give you a fighting chance of cancelling the contract for nothing. There could be something in the existing terms and conditions which states this, worth a look.

The giffgaff deals are a bit crap to be honest as they'll start charging for internet in Oct and it's not cheap.

just spoke to o2 retentions. Unlimited internet will be over for everyone even existing customers from October 2010. I have requested my PAC code today

No it wont - it's new customers/upgrades etc.

If your on unlimited internet now, you'll have it til the end of your contract.

The amount of times ive read this. People are getting that completely wrong.

Right now, Giffgaff give free mobile internet to every single one of its customers. You get something like 100mb per day free and its going to be free until October.

HOWEVER, if you have one of the goodybags (its a bolt on), its unlimited internet, so you can go mad using over 100mb per day if you wish. The october statement is only for those who dont buy the goodybags.
