    hi,

i bought a o2 pay as u go phone from the shop yesterday and i set it up and i cant receive calls from my mate.

my mate say that you must top up phone to activate the sim so i can receive calls? can anyone confirm this?

if i do have to top up then which is the cheapest way offer/deal to top up my phone on o2?

    thanks,

Thats not true, recieving calls is free but if you want to call someone you need to top up. The reason why you can't recieve calls could be that the sim card is old therefore o2 deactivate these sims as they are not in use. Is the sim card you are using old?

You might need to register your phone before you can receive calls.
If you do your first top up online you can get 10% back. Sign up to o2 surprises and all the extras as well. You can get 10% of your top ups back every 3 months as well!

I've got simplicity online 10 and that gives me 150mins + 300 txts for £10mth. they do different ones and are better value that ordinary monthly plans. It only takes about 2 days to receive it and def far better than payg. 30 days notice too.Go through quid co and you'll get £23.33 back even on the lowest tariff. But to answer your question I think you have to make a call before you can receive. Hope this is of use to you

    hi,

the sim is not old bought it a couple of days ago off the shop shelf. please advise.

also can i do o2 surprises offline?

and regarding the simplicity deal, can you put a cap on so you cant make calls if you go over your limit?

how much did u pay for it they're free on line . If it wasn't much I'd top it up and use it but send for the simplicity card. I think they allow you what is left on payg when you sign up for simp and you can keep your number as well. I'm finding it great for £10 that's all i need!! plus i've 20 extra mins for o2 treat. dont forget quidco

PS not sure about the cap on calls
