    This will be using the BeThere LLU Equipment after all they bought out BeThere some time ago now.

    Get ready for BeThere customers to start moaning about over subscribed lines, 20p a minute for customer service etc etc etc .....

    It'll be interesting to see how it develops and yeah I know O2 bought Bethere for £50mil last year, O2 been trying to increase coverage since, hence the delays.

    I would imagine that if it does get over subscribed, the new comers on the O2 contracts will be traffic shapped. Also why would anyone moan about having a FREE support number?

    Sky didn't overwhelm Easynet.

    With O2 backing Be, I don't see why that would happen

    Gah changed OP title, doesn;t change thread title.

    8mbit = £7.50/month
    16mbit = £10/month
    20mbit = £15/month

    If you have an O2 contract.

    I wonder what would happen if you left O2 at the end of your phone contract. ie will this mean you're tied in for 12 months for your PHONE?

    This looks fine for me. Just started a new O2 contract (at a total cost of £5 for the full 12 months and free 580i) and pay Be £24 for a 16.5Mb connection. If the downloads isnt capped, then it would be stupid not to take this and save 50% each month!

    ie last month I was paying £35 per month for the phone (which was cancelled due to T&C change) + £24 per month for Be. So this would become £10.50 instead of £59.

    Sounds good to me!

    If you're already a Be customer, you need to cancel the contract. Since this takes 3 months and your'll need to await your transfer code (and wont get it until at least 2 months time) once again "its for new customers only"... unless you can wait or pay a £50 cancellation charge.

    To get round this 3 month cancellation thing, its probably worthwhile to cancel every 6 weeks or so (but not use the number and start the countdown again) to get round such a long wait. You never know when you might need it - so wished I had done this 2 month ago!!!!!!!!!

    I;d be surprised if Bethere held anyone wanting to move to O2 Broadband to those contract times, though it'll be interesting to see.

    Well obviously the figures quoted are guestimates (its not being announced until the 15th October apparently), but I'm just quoting what Be told me.

    So cancellation and MAC has been raised - stating its to rejoin Be on their O2 tarrifs - but leave if I get messed about!

    Be's forum/dontbethere.co.uk/thi…and forum and other places are indicating bethere customers should be able to move over to O2 Broadband easily enough

    I'd agree that it should be easy enough!

    Ive just received a cancellation notice (ends 4 Jan 08) and a MAC that will be useless to use without penalties being applied! Im not actually asking to leave - just be on a different contract! I'd imagine things will become clearer shortly.

    Its interesting to note though....... if I cancel before that date, I get hit with a £50 cancellation charge - (and have asked if Ive sent the modem back yet!) So if I was leaving to join another ISP - and it got done on the 3rd of Jan - it reads that I would still get a £50 early cancellation charge! That cant be right!

    I'll ping a reply on the ticket to clarify! The chances are I wont be moving anywhere anywway if this new contract has silly caps on them. I dont download that much these days - but every now and then I get a crazy urge to!

    I believe Be customer support is going to be left seperate from O2, or at least that was their original plan anyway.

    Not that I've had to use Be Customer support too often thankfully

    Think I might take one of these packages on. I miss having the net at home - I can't go on HUKD when I'm drunk, you see £20ish for an 8meg and my BT line rental is just about bearable.
