Oh dear...problems with the iphone 4 already!

Apparently if you hold the phone by the antenna band it begins to lose reception almost immediately, a lot of videos to confirm this. I suspect Apple knew about this issue hence they're selling bumper rubber cases which wraps around the metal band on the iphone. Anyone else worried?

very strange.. i think ill wait to see other problems before i buy

    That's pretty terrible - a phone which loses it's phone-ness when held.

The amount of money Apple spends on R&D and this slipped through the net?

Let's hope there is an easy fix otherwise this will be one gigantic recall.

"According to Walt Mossberg's review, Apple has acknowledged the issue as something that has to do with "the way the bars are presented, not the actual ability to make a call," and that a fix is forthcoming."

So glad I kept my 3GS and just upgraded the software :-D

That's not good...maybe I'll wait a bit to see how it pans out before I commit to buying one. I doubt this news will deter the apple fans though!

    ahaahahahaahhahaaahaaaaaa

Ive got a cheap £5 phone that works, if anyone wants to borrow it. I wont get smug or anything. :w00t:

What typical rubbish, yeah, it doesn't lose signal, it just looks like it loses signal. Sure. Just a coincidence that it happens when you hold it on the antenna

Wow once again apple **** up with the reception, was always a problem with the previous ones too. My £10 nokia 1661 had better reception over my iPhone 3G S

Well, it's either they can fix it with an update, or Apple are going to have to add some sort of cosmetic extra to ever iPhone sold.

If what they say is true, it might be as the outside is the antenna, the phone might think it's getting a lot of interference etc so it lowers the bars and cuts out, hopefully it is this.

I never had a problem and I have owned all generations.

Has anyone had any problem with the yellow screen discoloration (like the problem the had with the mac books) with their ip4? Quite a few complaints about that too I've heard...
