Their policy is to charge the full amount and refund the discount amount at a later date. So if you used a voucher for £25 off a £100 spend, they'll charge you £100 at first and (possibly) refund the £25 after they've checked you're entitled to use the code.

They brought this in due to people abusing the codes so if you're not entitled to use the code (as per the T&Cs which are attached to it) then it's going to be hit and miss as to whether you get the refund.

If you got the code off here or another website, read through the T&Cs which should have been posted along with the code and see if you're one of the individuals it mentioned can use the code (e.g. new customer, etc). If you had the code emailed to you personally, then you'll be fine and are obviously entitled to use it.

P.S. This is not a new tactic, they've been doing this for ages. See here (plenty of angry customers in the comment section!): bitterwallet.com/lit…903

Very is advrtising the code in metro paper. So is. That ok to use??

Yeah, as long as you follow the T&Cs. For example, if it says "new customers only" and you've used Very before then I wouldn't risk it.

Always read the small print!

Tell them that you have agreed the price with them at the time of purchase and if they no longer wish to honour this, come and collect their goods and refund in full.

I have zero problem with them not honouring codes, but unless they do so prior to shipping, the practice should be stopped. Similarly, their other practice of advertising items with a good price that they have no intention of sending, then cancel the order and charge your card £3.95 for postage.

Just contact them and ensure you list the delivery charge in your email, they soon refund. Tried several times to take my delivery charge but have always got it back after a swift sharp email :-D

^ This.

If you're legit, nothing to worry about. They should refund the extra in a bit.
