OMG I'm a victim of Attempted Fraud!

Wow, I'm pretty nervious and paranoid right now, I just got a call from my Bank saying that 5 Transactions were Attempted yesterday by a Gambling Company in Germany and in the UK. Different Transaction Amounts up to £2000! God How the hell do people do this it really stumps me., I'm very safe with giving my card details out whilst paying Online for Goods and always use trusted sites, I'm going to have to clamp down on the transactions I make just to be safe, Has anyone else experianced this? Could have not come at a worst time! I was on the Loo!

He said "attempted".

scary isnt it xx

Did they ask you to confirm your account number and sort code?

Could have not come at a worst time! I was on the Loo!

At least you were in the best place to **** yourself :w00t:

Seriously - glad your bank spotted it, who do you bank with?

I had an attempted one too on my credit 3 days ago! Someone tried to purchase £3200 worth of goods on my card, luckily my credit limit is only £2.5k. The fraud department phoned me up immediately once that happened!

Even though I'm going to get a new card it's a very scary thought on how they managed to get those details. By the way did you get any weird miss calls during that time? I got a few missed calls from abroad on the same day and I'm worried it might be the them!

I would be checking your pc and any card you have used for viruses and other malware. Then I would ask where you have used the card at a cash point, as a lot of scams come from machine stealing details, I always check the machine for anything missplaced like a camera, parinoid maybe but happens more and more.

Yeah thats what I might be worried about i'm sure my Laptop has some sort of Malware on it so I'm going to get it checked out, I used my card at a cashpoint at Tescos yesterday when it was pissing it down, I've seen the news about the Cashpoint frauds lately and the transactions attempted were all made at the same time of 2:57pm, 2:56pm, I withdrew cash out in the morning and in the evening so I'm rather worried about using that machine again. Yeah I would just call it being safe I want to do the same from now on by checking.

Glad to hear they didn't get away with anything mate. Get the company to send new cards out to you and play it safe.

A little off subject, but have you noticed that chip N pin machines are getting smaller and easier for someone to see what number you're punching in? When they first came out they had a big lip so no one could see the ends of your fingers. Now they are almost flat!! I'm now waiting for the next machines to come out that shout the number out as you press it!!

Schools just breaking up for the holidays, so why have we got to have an English lesson on here?

No such thing as a trusted site........only takes one employee to sell your details or give it a try themselves.

Company may be honest but not always the employees.

Oh right I see sorry seemed like an Automated Response. I cant beleive that, it's so weird, I used the cashpoint at Tescos yesterday and the same day the transactions were made at 2:56 and 2:57pm, It was Tescos Garage so i'm not using that cash point again for the my safely, Then again I have used alot of the retailers online that you have stated aswell, Ministry of Deals was my most recent one.

Ministry of Deals is the one i am most worried about.
I wonder if anyone has had any similar experiences after buying from that site?

This happened to me last month. Got cleaned over £2,000 out my account.

Got every penny back though from LTSB

Anyone had any problems with Ministry of Deals?
