    on the beach holiday website - i need reviews :)

    I used in past only thomas cook and first choice but this time need something cheper I checked lots of holidays and on the beach seems to be quite cheap compare to tc or any other ... my problem is i don't know anybody who was on holiday with on the beach, is it good company ? any reviews from your family, friends ? i just need something cheap like greece or turkey for 2 weeks allIncl 4-5 stars hotel. I hear about icelloly but you have to call them ... on the beach let me book online. i see what i am paying for (hopefully no hiden costs? )

    We have used them several times before and so far no problems whatsoever (touch wood - going away again on Monday and booked Apartments through them so hopefully will continue in same vein).

    They act as agents for other travel companies and a lot of their apartments are booked through hotels4u.com who are a part of Thomas Cook.

    Those reviews don't look too great to be honest.

    I never had any hidden costs. You do need to also book a shuttle bus yourself (can't remember if I did that through them) and like most airline booking systems additional charges for baggage/meals etc will show as you progress through the booking process but weren't an add on afterwards

    And always do a seach on the like of skyscanner or travelsupermarket to see if OTB is actually the best price.

    Plus check the hotel reviews so your not disappointed

    thank you Paddy Charlie i never care as i only booked thomas cook and had everything done for me i go mexico end of the year so i spent a lot of money but desparate need one more holiday in july so i need something cheaper will have a good look

    be careful !! if you book for 6 people, they will sometimes put you in 2 rooms, not 3 rooms. Found out to our cost on one trip booked with them, other than that seem ok
    Question though - If I book through quidco and pay only the deposit initially, does quidco only track the deposit or the whole payment when paid?

    anyway i think they should credit your quidco account after your holiday, so they should track whole payment.

    We go DIY every year....book flights with either Easyjet or Jet2 and book our accomodation direct with apartment owner (apart from 2008 when we used Travelrepublic for a hotel as we knew it well and fancied a change from self catering). Was a daunting prospect the first time we did it but second nature now and we save roughly £2K on a holiday by doing it ourselves rather than going thru' a travel agent (the joys of having 3 kids)

    Use Columbus Direct for your insurance...they cover scheduled airline failure. We use them every year for this reason and they are by far cheaper than most insurance companies not least becos' our kids are free on the policy (think our policy was just over £30 and we got £6 odd back in cashback via Quidco).

    I have not even been on my hoilday yet and i will never use them again i have reported them to watchdog.

    We have booked a holiday with On the beach company , so far we have made 3 payments online as they tell you your able to pay any money you want off your holiday before the due date , each time we have been charged over £20 extra for payments £27 for a payment made yesterday EXTRA the reason for this is they charge £ 5 :00 per person extra for each payment made theres 4 of us going .. we only realised this when we got bank statement ! otherwise we wouldnt have made more than one payment ..so beware its not all its cracked up to be !!! no cheaper in the long run just a total rip off !

    Well having read this lot I won't be using on the beach thats for sure. A mate at work has used low cost and had no problems, may give the a twirl. Looking on the OTB site, the photos for the Villa Flamencia hotel in Nerja are wrong it looks nothing like that I have stayed there a few times. So it's a case of buyer be ware.

    I have just booked a holiday through On The Beach. I can't say I am overly impressed with the process so far once they have your deposit. It all seems great picking your flights, picking your hotel, select how many hold bags you want to pay for and transfers, all fine. HOWEVER, there ARE hidden costs - £24p/p suddenly pops up at the point of taking your deposit which is for flight taxes I believe. This wasn't added onto the cost of the holiday until the end. Plus the card fees of 2.95% on top.

    2 months pass after I have paid deposit. Then they emailed me a week before final balance was due saying it was OVERDUE, which it wasn't. Then I paid the balance a couple of days before it was due and their system, which auto populates your final balance. I pay the amount, accepting this time I have another card fee to pay. All sorted you would think, but no, the system tells me I have one penny left outstanding!

    I have emailed them stating I will not be paying one penny, with a charge on top.

    The flights seem a little strange too, you have to input a weird email address in order to finalise your details.

    I have to admit, at the moment, I'm not convinced I will even see this holiday, but the proof will be in the pudding and I will keep you updated!

    Anyway we had a very bad experince through this company, in the way of we booked a holiday, parking and a car for when we arrived at our destination, which was Majorca and low and behold no car when we arrived!!!! We were walking around Palma airport for 4HOURS!!!!!! we then tried to ring On the Beach, and they hung up on us THREE TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely disgusting!! will never ever book through this amaturist company again. Lets see how long this comments remains on here before it get deleted!

    Be very careful about On the Beach. They will book you into your chosen hotel and then transfer you to a cheap horrible hotel miles from where you want to be without telling you. Thus earning the difference on the cost of your chosen hotel. In my case this could have been £80. You arrive tired and hungry after the long journey, only to be told that your room has not been paid for. I had to pay again, having pleaded for five hours by telephone with their customer services department. Everyone I spoke to at the hotel had the same thing happen to them and had to pay twice. I was refunded by On the beach, but they kept all the extra surcharges I had paid to them. This company is run by CON MEN. They are very clever at deceiving their customers with deceptive advertising. See the Watcdog program on 17th Oct. 2012. You are better to deal directly with the hotel of your choice and book your flight directly with one of the very efficient no frills airelines such as Easyjet. If you stick to their rules, they are great. Best of luck, Rob

    Was gonna ignore reviews cos most reviews arnt accurate anyway. Need a hol soon so was gonna use otb believing ons pretty cheap. After looking I found it wasn't as cheap as travel republic who Ive used b4 so think stay with them, they're reliable and cheap. Wud like 2 try otb. Wud lije more info about them 1st now tho.

    Thoroughly check all the small print (and I do mean small) very carefully and make sure you check your return flight details - I booked a return trip to the Canaries from Gatwick and found, after I had paid the deposit, that the return flight was to Stanstead. They wanted more to cancel the arrangement than I had already paid.in advance. Their price does not include transfers to or from the resort hotel nor for the return journey from Stanstead to Gatwick, nor for any aircraft hold luggage. Needless to say, I won't be using OntheBeach again.

    Just got back from lanzarote all the usual agents couldn't get us into the hotel we wanted, on the beach didn't just get us into the hotel, all the arrangement they made for us, flights, transfers were great. We will be using them again for sure.

    I booked a holiday with on the beach for the 21st May 2013, firstly they phoned me back saying the flight prices had gone up and telling me I needed to pay more. Ten two days before I was due to go, when the flights where payed for they phoned to tell me the hotel had declined my booking and they wouldnt pay my refund until the hotel had payed them back. Because my flights where payed for I choose another hotel and had to pay for that, then was told again that the price of that hotel had gone up so I also had to pay more again. After sending around a dozen emails to them asking what was happening about my refund for the first hotel I contacted the hotel itself. They had not declined the booking on the beach had cancelled it, also they had not recieved my money either. That hotel was justifyably annoyed at this happening and it was them who managed to get on the beach to refund my money, otherwise I dont think I would have got it at all.

    I will never book with them again, as far as I am concirned they tried to steal my money, they ruined my holiday by cancelling my first choice of hotel, the second on not being at all suitable for my two sons. I would advise anyone reading this to never book with this people at all, they are out to con people out of their money. As to the idea they say that poeple should give them a chance to rectify things before posting reviews about them they didnt give me that chance, they wouldnt answer any of my emails about the refund of awful service I had from them.

    Steer clear of ON the Beach is my advice.

    Don't use them!! A friend booked a two-night break for six of us in Barcelona, in a hotel in the centre of the town.

    Four days before we were meant to leave, we were told that there had been a 'Systems Error', and that the hotel we were booked in was 60km from Barcelona. Did we want to go there, get a refund on the hotel part of the cost of the break, or did we want to look on the website for another hotel (for six, t four days' notice)?!? I'd really expect an automatic upgrade and a bottle of wine in the room. She was kept waiting on their "helpline" for an hour. Ghastly customer service.

    just come back from majorca 2nd july ,booked with o.t.b. for first time ,no hidden costs ,what you see is what you pay ,no problems what so ever ,plus they send you 3 e-mails ,reminding you to print of all documents .just in the process of booking a further holiday with them .hope this helps .

    I've never used them so cannot comment.
    First time I used lowcost holidays I swore I'd never use them again after having two sets of charges taken from my account. All down to their site crashing on my PC. But the holiday all went to plan. I've used them again since with no problems.

    on the beach is my worst experience ever, please stay away at any cost!!!!

    we booked with ON THE BEACH in feb paid a deposit of £1300 and then in july i found out that i might be losing my job i contacted them on numerous occasions and i must say that their customer service is about as BAD as it gets they respond only to emails which takes two or three days you can phone them and be left hanging on hold or in a queue for an hour and when you finally get an answer they just say "please respond via our website" Grrrrr Do NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE i only wanted to change dates to a later date and they dragged the process out over four weeks so that it just came to the time to pay the balance then promptly cancelled my booking because i wasnt able to pay due to unemployment. the negative comments that you read on forums are in my opinion quite justified BUYER BEWARE......

    Been on loads of holidays over the years but On The Beach was the worst company we have ever used , it started when we arrived in Egypt they hadn't booked us into the hotel ! from then on it was just awful , filthy , stay clear of them..........
