Fancy a weekend of indulgence that cares for the planet too? Then enter our fabulous competition to win £500 worth of green spa vouchers.
Spas across the country are taking steps to go greener, with a range of initiatives that aim to cut their carbon footprint.

Were offering one lucky Greener Living reader the chance to win a £500 voucher to spend at a greener spa.

Weve found three spa specialists who are going the extra mile to be eco friendly, with initiatives that range from all-natural beauty products to pools heated by renewable energy.

    1. The Titanic

The Titanic Mill in Yorkshire is the first eco spa in the UK, and its owners are working with energy consultants to make the whole building carbon neutral.

Eco features you will find at Titanic Spa:

A combined heat and power unit provides heat and electricity. This unit takes chippings from sustainable trees managed over a controlled time period.
    A 15m chlorine-free, salt regulated swimming pool
Photovoltaic solar panels to catch the daylight all year round
OTEX laundry system for lower energy laundry
Its own bore hole, 100m below ground that provides pure Yorkshire water
Titanic Spa has 11 spacious apartments, fully fitted with modern appliances, many with their own balcony and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

You can either choose to cater for yourself in the apartment, which has a fully fitted kitchen, dine in the Titanics Bistro restaurant or visit one of the local restaurants.

    2. Careys Manor

Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa is a luxury four-star hotel and Thai spa located in the heart of the beautiful New Forest National Park in Hampshire.

This highly commended hotel has been awarded Gold by the Green Business Tourism Scheme for Excellence in Environmental Practice and was also a finalist for Sustainable Tourism by Tourism South East. It has also been voted Hotel Spa of the Year by the British Beauty Awards.

Some of the green measures the hotel and spa are taking include:

A Green Team, which actively initiates environmentally friendly policies
    Wind farm-generated electricity
    Energy saving light bulbs
Installation of more efficient loft insulation
    Installation of water butts
Recycling as much paper, plastic, aluminium and glass as possible
Turning down of radiators instead of opening windows
Guests actively encouraged and rewarded for travelling car free
Careys Manor supports the New Forest Trust, which promotes sustainable tourism in the area
In addition, the three Careys Manor restaurants are run on ethical principles, using local,
free-range and organic produce where possible.
