Once: Win a Cold Frame

Found 30th Aug 2010
Q: Hardening off is...?
A: (the second option) The process of acclimatising plants raised under cover to lower temperatures, prior to planting out in open ground

Cold frames are ideal for protecting and hardening off young and tender plants, and for raising seedlings, plugs and cuttings.

The Quality Hardwood Cold Frame from Haxnicks protects plants from cold weather, and diffuses light in summer, reducing scorch. Attractive and durable, the cold frame is made from FSC-certified acacia, with UV-stabilised, twin-walled polycarbonate glazing. The lid has adjustable sliding bars, allowing ventilation control and easy watering.

We have four Haxnicks cold frames available to win, worth £79.99 each.

Size: 1m wide, 40cm high and 60cm deep

Closing date: noon, Thursday 9 September 2010.
