Once: Win a stay in Abergavenny

Found 20th Mar 2009
ONE lucky CityLife visitor will win a luxury break for two in Abergavenny - including dinner and wine at chef Matt Tebbutt's award-winning restaurant The Foxhunter - courtesy of Collier's Powerful Welsh Cheddar.

Matt Tebbutt, known for his work on BBC programmes Market Kitchen and Saturday Kitchen, is a passionate exponent of modern British cooking and always uses the best locally-sourced ingredients he can find.

This includes Collier's Powerful Welsh Cheddar, made at the Llandyrnog Creamery in Denbighshire, North Wales.

Matt likes to use it in his cooking at his acclaimed restaurant The Foxhunter, which he runs in South Wales with his wife Lisa.

'Locally sourced'

The point of being in the sticks is to cook local food," says Matt. "It cracks down on food miles; everything is much fresher; you're supporting the local economy. It's the only way you should cook in the country - by cooking the things around you.

I love using locally sourced products and I like the fact that Colliers Cheddar is made in Wales using Welsh milk. It has a unique and distinctive taste which makes it the perfect cheese for cooking meals for all the family.

Matt launched his first cookery book in 2008, entitled Matt Tebbutt Cooks Country.
