Once: win one of three pairs of tickets for a screening of The 400 Blows

To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the French New Wave, the BFI is celebrating the extraordinary variety of film-making which flourished in the late 50s and 60s, showcasing works by Truffaut, Godard, Chabrol and their contemporaries.

The movement started when Fran?s Truffauts debut feature The 400 Blows won best direction in Cannes in 1959. The film about a young boy drifting into delinquency on the streets of Paris became a classic and remains an influential landmark today. To mark the occasion, the film will be re-released in cinemas nationwide on 10 April 2009.

Throughout April and May, the BFI celebrates the Nouvelle Vague with a season of its films screening at BFI Southbank.

Jean-Luc Godards Pierrot le fou will be released nationwide on 22 May. For more information on release venues and the BFI Southbank season, visit bfi.org.uk/new…ean
