Once: Win two nights in London or Brighton

The word 'umi' means 'sea' in Japanese; and the company's philosophy is that their hotels should bridge the gap between Britain's budget and luxury hotels.

Umi aims to keep its prices low without cutting back on service and style - making it possible for guests to enjoy breaks without spending a fortune.

Owner and founder Steve Lowy feels that it is important to make time for acts of kindness and relaxation, regardless of the economic situation - and this is highlighted by Mother's Day on March 22.

Letting mums have a lie in and bringing them breakfast in bed, if only once per year, is a thoughtful and traditional way to show our appreciation of the mums in our lives," says Steve.

'Sustainable'

"But it seems that weve become so distracted by money, we forget that mums keep going, regardless of credit crunches and recessions. Mothers Day is not an area where we should be looking to make cutbacks.

"Mum can recline and still do her bit for a sustainable environment: Umis breakfasts are made from locally sourced produce wherever possible and served with fair-trade teas and world land trust approved Puro Coffee. Every kilo of Puro espresso sold sees money given to buy and protect rainforest in South America."

Umi's fantastic facilities include internet access, 24-hour reception, concierge and bar - and the Umi team will always be on hand to cater to guests' requirements.

The winner can choose whether to visit London or Brighton. Return travel and two nights' accommodation for two people will be provided, including breakfast and one meal for two people at London's 1356 restaurant; or Brighton's Arrogant Frog restaurant (both on site at Umi).

For a chance to win, just answer the following question...

* Arrogant Frog

* Affable Frog

This competition will close at noon on 17/04/2009
