FP - that thread started 3 weeks ago... 3 weeks - although I have now read the thread...

What's the point it's Sony Ericsson so you will get zero updates.

Just look at their list of none supported devices.

Also don't buy into the whole play thing as the games will be out on any android phone they are not just for the "play".

Sorry, I think I'm missing the point of why you are mentioning when it started.

I posted in it less than 2 days ago & I have just posted a link back to this thread.

Where is the list?

True, as discussed during the product launch; the Xperia Play will be first of these devices.

You are aware that Sony Ericsson have stopped support for the current xperia range after 9 months, on a very outdated version of android.

Which you can now not use a wide range of application. You can not even use Sony's own software ie the book reader, the game store.

They are a horrid company, with a bad reputation of updates.

If you want a list just do a bit of research, Just off the top of my head.

there is the

xperia 1
satio
vivaz
xperia 10
xperia 8
xperia 10 mini
xperia 10 mini pro

the list goes on and on

No, I wasn't; but I am now, thank you.

The W800i handset I am currently using is still working; without updates.

Can you not return the individual handsets back to their original (or previous) operating system to return functionality, or are you not allowed access to the "store" if you do?

Thanks (again)... but none of those handsets interest me.

The Xperia Play does for integration with PlayStation Suite.

BFN,

It's you choice, rather you than me though.

Already outdated hardware, before it's even released and Sony Ericsson poor record of updates = no go for me.

Also the fact it looks poor, and seems quite bulky.

Yet they still support the PS2 11 years on.

Yet they still support the PS2 11 years on.

It was announced last Monday (14 February 2011) that the cumulative sales of the PlayStation®2 "computer entertainment system" had reached 150 million units worldwide (as of 31 January 2011) within the 10 years & 11 months since the PS2's release in Japan (in March 2000).

In recent years the sales have been mainly gained from countries in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia & South America; those slow to adopt, or those with a delayed release of, the PS3.

Doomed to fail like the PSP Go Away, or the Ngage...

Apple has this corner of the market.....

Sony and Sony Ericsson are not the same company.

This phone has nothing to do with sony, Sony Ericsson is an independent company.

This phone has nothing to do with playstation / sony they have no say over it. This phone simply has the new playstation games suite pre installed from the market place, oppose to having to download it. Which any other phone on android 2.2 can do.

I can see where you are getting confused though, thinking they are the same company.
