Open end flights from London to Melbourne

I'm visiting my brothers in Oz this winter and I wondered if anyone could give advice on ticketing? Im looking for a reasonably priced ticket that will allow me to book a departure in October and leave the return date open but coming back to UK in January 2011.

Anyone able to help?

Hello,
Apologies i can't offer any help with your question.

I've never seen an option for buying open ended tickets online, but i guess it must be possible.
Would it not be better, if you're able, just to book the specific dates as you're staying near enough the whole 3 months anyway?

Do you know if buying an open ended adds much to the price?

Hi Borgax, yeah i booked a flight yesterday. Cost me nigh on £900! Cant complain i guess to get to the other side of the globe and back. Off for the full 3 months. Not sure about the prices for open-enders i guess you pay the premium for that?

I've never looked into open ended myself.
Yeah when all said and done 900 for that flight isn't all that bad, and we get flight prices so much better than they do in the US.
I'm looking for prices to Bali at the moment, seem to be around the 660 mark unless luckily the site will flick up a 530 one.
