I got a letter telling me that they would be charging. I am hoping to cancel mine aswel.

I would suggest you to call orange and ask them for paperless(e bills) which I am currently getting through my provider and this way you shouldn't pay anything..:D

No, its not part of the plan and you can opted out and have online billing for free, sorry...

it was part of my plan that i receive paper bills as part of it for free...... i know its not minutes or texts. but its still something important..

i shall await my letter then....

why do people get mobile contracts, to then wait and hope there is a way to get out of them one day ??

    lol Free phone?

Better deals appear daily and in 12, 18, or 24 months your phone is out of date and you could be paying for less than somebody else gets for the same money.

Unless you are like me, and just use a phone to ring and text people. :-D

lol yea i get what your saying m8, still i dont get why they bother going for such a long contract then, as @ the end of the day nothing is free and in the long run it will be added to something else and we all end up paying for it lol or better still buy a pay as you go

It's a cheap way of getting an expensive phone at the end of the day.

I use loads of minutes and texts, so a contract is great. And has I only have a crappy phone, in the last three years I've had a free 360 Elite, 2 Nintendo DS's and £500 in cashback! lol

lol have u stuck with the same handset all the way then ?

And here is how its done -

    1. Cancel Direct Debit

    2. Sit back, relax, order new phone at £35 a month

    3. You wish it was that easy!

Could this be done if the person using the contract is under 18?

No, but they do not check what age you are, so it is their own fault for not using the correct precautions beforehand.

you didnt give details? date of birth etc?

    errrrr they should

and the credit check would show you werent 18 also

if you are skint because you stupidly signed up to something you cant afford its not Orange's fault - its yours

I doubt you could cancel as there is an alternative available to avoid the charge - the change would not be detrimental as you could still get free bills albeit not paper ones.

No, it is not the fact that i am skint, i want to get the new iPhone but as of yet there is no unlocking solution for it, so i wanted to get an o2 contract.

They do no credit check. I was able to get a contract at 14 because i already had a Solo card from HSBC. It is oranges fault for not taking the correct precautions, and at 14 if i had've decided not to pay, there would not be much they could do to make me pay.

It also was not in the terms that i signed up to that i would have to pay in order to get a bill in the post.

of course - if you don't have internet access there is no alternative
