Orange San Francisco £79.99 for existing Orange PAYG customers (this includes a free £10.00 top up) 0800 079 2000

You have to phone Orange to get this deal for existing Orange PAYG customers and ask for a deal on the San Francisco as you are already a customer. They should offer you a £30.00 discount. The cost is £79.99 which includes a £10 top up card.

I signed up to Orange 2 years ago to get a free sim for Orange Wednesdays and used this account to get the deal (i use this number once in a blue moon for Orange Wednesdays and have only topped up once in 2 years).

I have unlocked the phone to O2 easily and for free over the internet and will use the £10 top for another year of Orange Wednesdays

Great phone at a great price!

this deal has been mentioned in most of the other san francisco deals and think most ppl who are after a sf would know.

i got this deal to (after seeing it on here previously) my OH wanted one we both have contracts just changes to sim only on orange they would not offer this to pay monthly customers so i had a pay as you go in my name which i dont use so used that to get the deal you have to speak to the right person as some did not offer it had to ring up a few times.

1 more thing OP do you know were the £10 top up goes is it on my PAYG card already or on the one that comes in the box with the phone?

    mumbojumbo

Orange seem incapable of crediting the £10 top up that is supposed to … Orange seem incapable of crediting the £10 top up that is supposed to come with a new phone or sim card. E-mails to customer services are met with "Sorry, we cannot help" or are ignored. Calls to customer services to discuss the problem are charged at 25p per minute, but 20 minute phone calls to an Indian call centre still fail to resolve the problem. Do register a complaint with Ofcom if you have problems - it may only be £10, but Orange must be raking it in from all the customers who stay silent.

I had the same problem. After activating my SIM I waited a week and nothing came through so I phoned up the Indian call centre who were not very helpful. I eventually got it credited by someone the next time I phoned up and they said it would take 24 or 48 hours(.. or something) to go on - a week and many irritating phone calls later it was credited! Was the only time I've got so annoyed I've had a go at the person taking the call!!

Had a similarly irritating experience when trying to get my phone swapped as it was faulty (ZTE quality control at the factory is dire.. so many faulty ones were being returned when they initially came out). I had 2 unsuccessful calls to the Indian call centre where they walked me through doing a factory reset and other pointless activities (I knew it was a hardware fault but I played along to make things simple.. as they never deviate from their script) and then failed to call me back when they said they would. Got through to a British call centre the third time and they arranged for a replacement to be sent right away - no patronising me with power cycling or factory resetting! Sorted in 5 minutes - literally.

I swear that Indian call centres are bad for companies.. Customers get pis*ed off at them and everything takes 4 times as long to sort out as it would in a British call centre. I guess they cost less than 4 times as much to run though, and it's all about profits so we'll not be seeing good customer service from Orange any time soon!

    Oops. Rant over!

Hello, if I could just ask, when you call and get the discount, how do you get the phone and how much is shipping?
    Thanks guys
By the way the phone is great, with the MoDaCo Custom ROM Froyo 2.2 it's comparable with Galaxy S, no kidding, check benchmarks on youtube.

    free p and p

Boo! Doesn't in fact work for pay monthly (I was quoted £109) and if you are on PAYG you need to have a certain level of top-up per month on the account. Good old Orange.

As great value the San Francisco is, you cannot seriously compare the two, Galaxy S is in a different league! (I have both).

Thanks for the heads up OP!

No question, it's a good phone for the price but benchmarks are not to be relied upon for comparing two phones. They're don't accurately reflect the phone's performance - only way to do it is side by side comparison

i rang uptoday and they said the offer isn't there anymore

just phoned again and they said i needed to have been with orange for more than three months

This still works - got the £30 discount and phone is on it's way with £10 credit
was charged £78.99 for some reason
