Other Free alternatives to OpenOffice?

OpenOffice seems to be corrupting every file I save, so I need a decent alternative. Any ideas?

NB: I would get MS Office but I'm short on cash atm.

Does OpenOffice have to be installed? If so you could try reinstalling it to see if it helps. (never used it)

I really don't know of any other package you could use, sorry. Hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

WordPad and Paintbrush

On a serious note, have u tried Google Docs?

You don't want to use Open Office, you don't like Google Docs, can't afford MS Office but want something to rival it, and for free...

Do you work for NHS or are you a student? They have discounted options.

LOL

pretty much mate, dont worry about it, I have reached a solution

Try AbiWord if you're just looking for Word alternatives.
You can get Office for about £30-35 from Software4Students too (no need to provide proof of being student).

You should try OpenOffice again.

Unistall it. delete the system files (C:\Program Files\....)

then download a new setup file then install. ( ]http//ww…ce/

If it still doesn't work, use that link above and download an older version.

Presumably that goes against the licencing agreements though and so you may as well get it for free?

youtube is you friend for office keys

I second AbiWord its freeware and saves to word formats and even Linux formats too I think.

Not going to get into a moral debate. I bought my student version as a student via Uni.
