it could alway be wired up with an isolating fused spur on the inside of the wall ? so you can turn it on only when you want to use it.

you can buy them on ebay I have got one with the lock hole for less than 12 pounds

do you have a screw fix near by: screwfix.com/c/e…008

couple of things to make sure, if you have RCDs in your consumer unit you should be ok with a non-rcd version of an outdoor socket but if you don't have just have fuses then you must put an RCD outdoor socket in.

also worth using armoured cable is the run is outdoors (not just straight through a wall).

Definitely have an extra RCD for external sockets as if the unit or cable are damaged then it wont trip the whole house.

If you buy the Duell one you are going to have fun getting the socket plate on when you have it wired. It's a good waterproof socket with lockable facility but a poor design and if you are not careful it traps the wires when you are trying to put the cover plate on. RCD works well though and no need for armoured cable through a wall. If cable is not direct into back of socket then conduit is fine. If you use conduit make sure all edges are sealed with silicone.

The ones with RCD facility look expensive at screwfix for a twin outlet. I got mine from b and Q for £19.99
