    Oven door seal

    Banned
Just broke the seal that keeps the glass in the oven door whilst de-gungung it, it has been put back in but obviously has a break in it, will this matter? Dont want the glass to blow or anything, its just £20 for a new one and at the mo could do without paying out if its not an ememrgency

I have found the part i need, but it ranges from £20 upwards, like i said its back in but obviously its now got a cut in it, but have seen some seals for sale that you cut to your own length, so thought maybe a break in the rubber seal shouldnt make to much of a difference

ah well get a new seal in then .. if it blows up you know its rubbish :giggle:

if its a double wall door you can get away with it if its on the outside, but if its inside you cant as it gets too hot and glue will melt. However try phoning cpc (you will need cooker model) and ask how much a replacement would be, they are expensive as they are heated treated rubber, but cpc tend to beat all other places for prices on spares. ]cpc.co.uk If you are near Preston you can go there and pick it up. Otherwise theres a postage charge if you spend under £40. Hope that helps.

the seal i have is fine, it still fits but its broken, it still meets end to end, i was just asking if it is safe to use as i have seen one you cut to fit, which in all honesty will be the same as mine now, or buy a new one that fits my model, oh shut up sassie your rambling

It will be fine, the seal is just there to keep the heat in. Try it on a low temperature at first if you dont want to risk it.
