Council bosses have admitted scoring an "own goal" after a fence was built through the middle of football goalposts in a park in York.

The new fencing was installed at a cost of £6,000 on playing fields in Heworth.

It was erected before £37,000 worth of new play equipment is phased in at the park over the next few weeks.

Bit of a non story really as the posts were due to be removed as part of the refurbishment.

Well they do say its a game of two halves

My local council recently put speed bumps in the road, thing is, they put them too far left and right so the cars could drive right down the middle without going over them, a few weeks later now and they have to dig them up and do them properly, maybe this is where the money is going in the uk government??
