Panasonic Viera problems

The TV keeps changing its own channel!!!! SO ANNOYING!!!

Regardless of what is on it will change to ITV and every so often restart itself.

Have taken the batteries out of the remote and it still does it, so its not the remote.....funny thing is my grandparents tv (same model) is doing the same....

So wondered if anyone elses is doing it, or if anyone knows how to sort it it has been happening about a week now....and it really is so infuriating!

Could it be in 'demo' mode?
I had a similar problem when I bought an ex-demo TV.
If thats it you need to go into the service menu & change it.

good idea but no, we've had it almost 2 years now....so pretty sure its not that
Same problem here. I have sky hd and it switches off sky and goes to digital, sometimes blanks out. I've emailed Panasonic about it.

Ohhh when I said regardless of what Im watching I mean via virgin media (on av) so yes it does seem to be the same problem...

thats interesting....could you tell me what they reply (if anything) I guess at least its not just my tv (was thinking that until we realised my grans was the same)

wonder what it could be.....ours seems to do it in phases....generally when there is something on that I want to watch :whistling:

I have it linked through an hdmi cable. I have swapped from hdmi1 to hdmi2 to see if it solves the problem.

well I thought changing it to AV2 helped (VM overrides TV on AV1, but seems constant on AV2) as it seemed to before but now it is changing regardless lol

I quoted the Sale of Goods Act on my email. I didn't get it from JL I got it off the net, JL were the official repairers in my area.

yup I have a degree in law so know the stuff....but I have found out if I quote out the law, and say what im entitled to and why, there is 0 chance of me getting it (Ebuyer springs to mind :x) so gone for the "mine, and 2 friends TV's have broke....any ideas whats wrong with them?" approach :whistling:
Funny coz from a week ago mine keeps showing the channel overlay at random times. Taken the batteries out of the remote, cleaned the tv from dust... and today it seemed to stop doing it. Mine was a 26" from JL about 2 years ago.

But how do they all start playing up at once. Dodgy firmware upgrade put out by Panny ? Wierd !!
