Found 9th Aug 2010
Used this courier several times for uk items and found them very reliable. Used them back in june to send item to canada, measured the box carefully etc as I knew they would charge extra if it wasn't accurate. Today i have received an email from parcel 2 go stating
Good Morning,

We have been informed that the parcel(s) below have been scanned and the weight
and/or dimensions you declared were incorrect and a resultant charge has been
applied.

P2G3746721 – parcel(s) to CANADA sent on 16/06/2010

You declared 48 * 18 * 17 (cm equivalent) and 2.8 kg = volumetric weight of 2.94
kg

The courier scanned this as 49 * 38 * 18 (cm equivalent) and 3.5 kg = volumetric
weight of 6.7 kg.

Therefore on this parcel an underpayment of £15.05 is now due.
Haven't replied to them and as expected after such a long time the buyer no longer has the box so I can't prove the size, any suggestions anyone?

i have sent with them abroad and it was a little bigger but no problems...email them back tell them what was in the box and a link to the item on ebay or whatever? tell them a mistake must have been made..its and easy error one digit? i guess we can assume the other cm each way was a different tape?

It's a scam.

They tried the exact thing on me, Until i pointed out the item was linked to a ebay sale. Which was a set of headphones, and the item dimensions could easily be found on-line. When I pointed this out they soon backed down.

Hi Pipsqueak,

I'm sorry to hear that we have upset you with this, the reason we send this type of email is that dimensions we were sent by the courier were larger than declared and that due to such tight margins giving such how low prices we offer, we have to recover under declarations. However, if the box is no longer available then we will of course write this off.
In order for me to do this could you forward me the P2G number to [email protected]parcel2go.com including reference to this conversation please?
Kindest Regards

+1 I'm really impressed, I've always found p2g reliable too.

they messed me around a few years ago didnt collect etc...gave me free deliveries and then didnt collect those lol
recent times they have been fine. Im glad its resolved for you.

They are better because they are less popular. Wayback they used to overbook every delivery to make sure they were 100% capacity. Now there are a lot of DHL resellers and they don't have as many orders as they have capacity.

I bet claiming for damage is still a bitch though.
