Parking - going to Anfield on 9th

We're going to Anfield for the Champions League game and after booking trains and a hotel we now have to get back to Scotland for the next morning so no choice but to drive and head back after the game. Any advice on somewhere safe (yip, I know some people will have an opinion on that) to park that ideally offers a reasonable option to head back North? We'll be there around a late lnchtime, if there's somewhere we could park all day then fab, otherwise we'll move the car. Postcodes would be helpful but I can Google, ta.

Thanks!

Parking in Liverpool you mad?

I knew there would be such a comment  I really don't want to drive but have no choice - can't disappoint my 4 year old.

watch out for the young magicians who want to show you the "now you see...now you dont trick"

I usually park on Belmont road. It's free and about 10 minutes walk from the stadium (easy exit). You may need to get there early though. There are a few parking 'places' but there may be a chance that you may be blocked in and will have to wait until the person in front leaves.

Good shout. That's probably your safest bet, you could leave it down one of the side streets and risk a ticket but make sure you don't say no to any of the scruffs round there when they offer to mind your car. Just throw them a quid when you get back.

another option is to park at the local asda

Th local ASDA is about a 15 minute walk i would say, not a bad idea.

on a serious note, i went to anfield a few years back and parked my car on one of the side streets. As i parked i had few young chavvy kids come upto me asking for £3 to "look after my car"....so i gave them £1.50 and said i'll give you £1.50 when i get back! After the game went to my car the kids where there and my car was ok...so i gave them £1.50....on the other side of the road was a couple of cars with no tyres...so i ask them what happened and they responded with a laugh...."they didnt pay their car protection fee"

Maybe so, Perhaps the crimes committed aren't necessarily committed by Mancunians.

Perhaps it's a day out for Scousers.

100% serious...i went on a wednesday night to watch liverpool arsenal...my manager was a season ticket holder so he couldnt go that night and told me which street to park on and if kids ask for money pay them half and then half after.....he parks there all the time!!

I must add to the fact I'm not serious,

I wouldn't know where to park in Liverpool.

Happy to walk a bit - better than sitting in traffic anyway. Do you know if Asda has a max stay type restriction?

Thanks for all your help guys.

Can't see parking at United that bad for crime as Liverpool. Old Traffords in a very busy spot, and has good parking in comparasion.

I am utd fan...but i took my little cousin and who had a great time and its one of those days that he'll never forget! Sometimes there is more to life then football club loyalties!!!!!

I used to live down one of the side streets in anfield when i was younger and we used to mind peoples cars, we never took peoples tires though and neither did any of the last on the streets around it. Worst they would do if they sat there all game minding it is call you a "pr*ck" or something. They're made up with a couple of quid though so don't be sly.

I still wouldn't go to the old trafford even if it meant joy to a little one, my wife wanted me to buy a united shirt for her united supporting brother in iraq, she got a rather rude reply
