Personally i park at Stanmore station & take the tube into Central London. Very cheap to park there & saves on congestion charges etc. Take a look & choose your best option from the South West :

tfl.gov.uk/roa…spx

On street parking in Westminster should be ok dependent on the time you arrive. Limited to maximum 2 or 4 hours dependent on location and about £4 to £5 per hour. You can register on arrival and do pay by phone parking with your mobile with a 20p admin fee for each payment. Pay for 2 hours and they will text you to ask if you require to park further time (another 20p fee on top) and just ignore it if you leave on time, ideal if you end up getting delayed. I drive in fom Gloucester regularily for service work and as I drive a van I am limmited for multi storey. I think if you Google "Westminster Parking Services" they will assist you with their site on car park locations and I think you may even be able to book. On that note most street parking ends up full with vans that have the same problem as me. Make sure you are not in a "residents only bay" or "suspended parking bay" and read all the notes on the meter. Some meters only take card payment and take plenty of cash if they do take coins!
Don't forget the £8 congestion charge payable on the day.
And finally, catch the train instead!

hounslow west is free weekends but use hounslow east which is £2.00 all day to go see the arsenal from somerset. follow m3 till TW3 4AB, 2and 1/2 hours 3 hours.have a good time.

Many Thanks
To darren9030, bobsdeals and databar

Your info is appreciated and most helpful, this site is amazing you can ask almost anything and there are people who will know!!!
( bobsdeals) I didn't realise parking in London was so complicated!!
Thanks Again

wait till you meet all the helpful drivers in London

btw don't forget to tip the council for congesting the roads.

That's nothing!
Try parking a van out of Westminster in central east london. I can spend 1 hour driving arround "attempting" to find a space for a half hour job. Liverpool street has 4 spaces at 4 hours max and that is it (nearly always got vans in the spaces).
I would never have dreamed of posting for a response on this site about parking but it has stirred me. On that note if anyone has more info on parking in London I would like to hear more.
P.S not really an option for me to tube in as I have lots of kit and several jobs arround and about.

I drive to Westfield. Park there then tube it to where I need to be. It's convenient, if costly.

goto morrisons car park in camden just past the lock about an 8 min walk to tube through the new markets area

then tube it from zone 2

Please note if you are going for a Visa or something similar you will be there most of the day!!
You may have an appointment but so have a few hundred more people at the same time and you have to queue to get through each proceedure including security. Take drinks and food too just incase as they did have vending machines but very expensive ones!

Hi
Good point, I have to go to the Embassy to get myself a social security number, I have to appear in person but i have no appointment time was told just to come on 11th feb anytime between 9.30-1.30 so i didn't think we would be very long, maybe though from what you have said we should prepare to be there much longer!!!
Many Thanks
