i think hes long past his best, dont see him making any impact at all tbh

This would have been big news a few years ago.
    Now, meh.

You dont get to be playing for Inter Milan (whether it is on the bench or in the team) if you are no longer a good player. Viera will do a job. A very good job.

A few more million in debt ........... will do a job though.

He's there for six months to instill a winning mentality and as a backup in defence, I dont think hes part of the long term plan.

Which is why they didn't play him regularly lately, and didn't renew his contract.

The question is if he was still able to compete at this level, why didn't Wenger sign him?

For Mancini it's hardly a massive gamble - either he does well or he doesn't and is off in 6 months.

    No real downside.

Did I hear reports that they want to mould him into a centre half?

Still a good player (but is he a great player anymore?) we will see I suppose

Why not - they turned Micah Richards from a potential England centre-half into an above average full-back.

Yes, I imagine our owners do own some donkeys, what does that have to do with anything ???
93 million is nothing to a man of sheikh Mansours riches. Its costs a lot to catch up with the 'big four' who have been pricing everyone else out of the market for years and years.

Manchester City football club has reported an annual loss of £92.6m ($148m) for the 2008/09 financial year.
The figures do not take into account the further large outlay since May 2009 on players such as Carlos Tevez, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor.

    Give it time ...........

I wouldnt be surprised, we dont want to leave Nigel De Jong out of the team as he's been awesome and Gareth Barry needs a regular spot to become the player we know hes capable of being. Dont want to distrupt the two central midfielders to squeeze Viera in. In Macini we trust !

First of all is the family, and second, I have made a decision and I want to respect it, that is what I feel and Estudiantes is the place where I feel comfortable," said Veron."If I would have accepted this offer I wouldn't have been true with my convictions, with myself and with the people."Veron's agent Miguel Pires went into detail about City's offer."Veron said to me that he received a phone call from Mancini and that he had offered him £7million and the same to Estudiantes for a one-year contract," he revealed."In addition, that amount would have been duplicated if he would have continued at Manchester City during 2011."

Buying (and trying to buy) 33 / 34 / 36 year-olds looks to me like panic buying trying to get instant success :whistling:

Viera is the only player I can think of that's played for the big 3 in Italy, and flopped at all of them
