Pay monthly phone deal without c/back

Hope it's not too rude to post straightaway with a request?
I have been watching the forums for ages - promise to share any deals i see in future

So I have given notice to O2 to cancel my pay monthly deal (they didn't seem interested in tempting me to stay) and looking for a new deal where i can take my number (have got the PAK code) and would like a Samsung D900 on less than £30 per month. 200mins and 200 texts would be enough for me.
Would i need to leave O2 to transfer my number?
Most of the deals i've seen have involved cashback but would rather not have cashback deal as 1st baby due any day and can't trust myself to be on the ball enough to claim in time!!!

Thanks for any advice

Right, have looked around a bit, orange have the dolphin £25 price plan with 150 mins and 300 texts (plus unlimited texts evening and weekends), but the phone is out of stock - you may be able to get it instore. Unfortunately there is no quidco from orange and it's an 18 month contract, but they offer £100 credit instead. Orange Price Plans ]here

Vodafone don't appear to have the phone you want listed on their website, but dependant on the phone you choose, you can get 200mins and 500 texts for £13.50 for the first 6 months, £27 thereafter on an 18 month contract. Plus £58 quidco. Vodafone price plans ]here

Three also don't offer the phone, but there are two £20/month tariffs that offer either 100mins and 1000 texts or 500 mins and 100 texts, you may stretch your needs to accommodate one of these options, price plans found ]here

Three also give up to £80 quidco cashback!

I have a vested interest in three, being a current customer, so if you'd like to join up we can both get £30 credit through the refer a friend scheme!!!

In the interests of impartiality(!) T-mobile price plans are ]here, their Flext 25 (18 months) looks good for 200 mins and texts plus they offer the phone you want. £12 quidco too!

Hope this helps

Hi Freers

Thanks a lot for the info. Had a good look but got a bit twitchy with time running out and wanted to sort asap. Rang O2 back and quoted some of the deals, got them to offer me a better deal than they had before which makes life a lot easier!

Cheers again

Thanks Ultimoscorpion, the moneysupermarket tool is great as you can search for deals without the cashback option.
