PAYG Mobile Broadband - Best Reception & Deal Please

Found 18th Sep 2008
Hi,
I'd like to know who are the best to go with for a PAYG Mobile Broadband.
I don't need it for all the time as we have Broadband at home, I just want it for when we go on Holiday or visiting to those who don't have internet access.

Also who would be the best for reception in Weymouth?

Thanks

Cheapest I've seen is with 3. Whether it's best reception for you area is something you'll have to check.

I'm with 3 mobile broadband - PAYG and contract and I have had no problems or reception trouble wherever I've used it.

I've got Vodafone (on contract) and the reception is useless. I get no better than dial up speeds even in 3g areas. it's ok for checking emails but pretty useless for much else.

I was using mine in Portland and Weymouth just a month ago. Portland was GPRS only and Weymouth was 3g in parts, but again I noticed no improvement in speed.

It really depends on your location. No network is (really) better for reception. You need to go on different network providers websites and enter your postcode to check coverage. Also the best way to find a good deal is to use a Mobile comparison site like www.mobilecontracts.net or wait for some hot deals on hotukdeals.com

I think I might go for the 3 dongle as it's the only one that I can see that offers the PAYG and its only £49.99 to buy. I'm just wondering if it will give me the same reception as a contract one?

Sorry not into gadgets and don't really understand what 3G, GPRS etc means/does :?

£39.99 from play.com. Also 5% (i think) quidco too.

GPRS, 3G and HSPDA are all speed types. GPRS (slower) to HSPDA (faster)

Thank's for that

I've now ordered it from Pay.com and saved more than if I was to have ordered it from the 3 website.

Have also gone through quidco.

How you found with the quality of signal and speed of data on Three mobile broadband?

I would been keen to know your opinion as i've just cancelled my Vodafone contract as it was useless. I'm going to consider a PAYG option now instead.
