Paying for a Villa via Bank Transfer or Paypal?

I am due to go on holiday and i have to pay for the villa booked through an agent.
Now i was just wondering what would the exchange rate be when i send the funds? IE if the villa is costing €2000 but it comes to around £1678, with the exchange rate at 1.19 euros to the pound(todays rate) Therefore, if paying by master card or paypal what would the exchange rate be ?

All depends on the day the transaction goes through. and the issuer of the card.
It's virtually impossible to state at any given time how much this will cost you

go with a CC, you also get a protection under section 72 just in case. not sure how if paypal has limits of refunds when something goes wrong

Yeah was thinking of using the cc for protection. Any idea of the exchange rate though ?

THIS. Ask your credit card company, as they will be the best ones to advise you on their current exchange rate & fees

No cover with PayPal and no cover with bank transfer. Go direct payment with credit card. Just to clarify. If you pay using credit card via PayPal you won't be covered...also only you and your family are covered. Not friends or relatives.

Just put £100 payment on credit card and the rest by another cheaper method. You could put £100 on card and the rest on a bank transfer or PayPal. You will be covered for the whole amount. Martin Lewis coverd this in his radio five live podcast last week I think it was. That's how I know a little about it. Low cost holidays went bust taking folks money.

An agent asking for bank transfer??? Nearly got scammed last year for being asked to pay via that. Credit card (through secure website) best way. Ownersdirect website can be very dodgy-be very carefull if you are using them.
