    Paying via paypal goods

Just wanted to ask a few questions regarding paypal goods and services as going to be purchasing an item from someone.

If I send the money via pp goods and services and then I do not receive the item how long is it before you can then claim a refund through paypal?

Also what if the seller does not reply and has no contact and paypal have to refund me? Does this add more time for me to get the refund?

    Thanks

it's normally up to the seller to prove the item was delivered to you so you almost certainly get your money back, BUT If you are having doubts before the transaction perhaps you should buy elsewhere.

I've had this exact situation this last week.

First open a dispute then wait a few days, you can escalate to a claim straight away but give the seller a chance to post. Once you open a dispute his account is limited & he can't withdraw the money (although likely already will have done). Claims take 10 days if he doesn't reply to the claim, after which you'll have PayPal automatically find on your favor & receive a full refund. Seller's account will go negative & he won't be able to use it until it's cleared, nor open another account. The only thing you'll lose is time.

Thank you, so the worst case scenario is about 10 days for a refund?

Nope. You get back 100% of what you've paid, and the Paypal either recover the funds for themselves or are out of pocket but the seller may have his debt passed to a collection agency. They really only screw themselves over. The payment is reversed, you've lost time, seller has taken a hit financial-credibility wise. I had two refunds in the same week, one for seller not posting it, the other for a fake phone, had both refunded in full - £225 & £250 each time.
